A reminder that this Saturday 5th June, is the last week of the Letterkenny Blaze 6 Week Outdoor Basketball Programme. Thank you to the players and coaches who turned up to train over the last few weeks. The weather was mostly on our side except for a shower of rain here and there!!!
The players adapted so well to the outdoor environment and to the new Covid protocols. Thanks to all the parents who assisted with this and who went through the club’s Covid protocols with their own kids.
The club would also like to extend our thanks to Letterkenny Educate Together Primary School and Coláiste Ailigh for allowing us to avail of their fantastic outdoor courts over the last few weeks.
As everyone in Ireland moves along the journey to recovery from the Covid Pandemic, we here in Letterkenny Blaze have learned in the past few weeks that we CAN deliver a basketball programme outdoors. This was important for us, to build confidence in transitioning from indoors to outdoors and to reconnect with club members.
As the summer months are traditionally a rest period from basketball, the club will take this opportunity to work on all the invisible tasks that goes on behind the scenes in order to get the club ready for a new season in September. We encourage players to get involved in other sports and to continue to work on their basketball skills at home. (Check out information below for further initiatives)
Once we have more definitive information for the season ahead, we will be back in touch with all parents/guardians re registration details for the 2021-2022 season.
Thanks again to everyone and see you all this Saturday!!
