Welcome to the Letterkenny Blaze website!
Letterkenny Blaze Basketball Club was established in 1999 with just 20 members. Our mission was to promote the game of basketball and develop and underage coaching structure in the local area. Some of our past members are currently playing Superleague, Varsity, and Division One basketball at a high level. Our club has also been represented at International level through the years.
Our club currently has approx 300 active members aged 6 to 19 years. We compete in the Basketball Northern Ireland Junior Basketball League and the North West Junior Basketball League and Cup competitions and have won many titles throughout the various age groups. We provide recreational basketball to those players not playing competitively.
Our club is a club run exclusively by the parents of the players. We encourage all parents to help out and offer their assistance. We rely heavily on our Junior Coaches. The junior coaches are an invaluable asset to our lead coaches and also to our younger members. We emphasise the importance of giving back and they are always only too happy to oblige.
We are very fortunate to have the Loreto Secondary School Gym as our home venue. Without their generosity, we would not have a club and we are grateful to the School Principal and the Board of Management of the school for the use of the facility.
