We are running a Green Shoots programme again this year for the Under 10’s age group. The programme will be facilitated by Coach Laura Deeney BI Approved Coach. It will run for 5 weeks commencing Wednesday 1st May from 6.00pm – 7.30pm at a cost of €45 and includes a Kappa Playing Kit worth €25. The Countdown to The Basketball Hall of Fame – Belfast Classic 2018 has begun.
Letterkenny Blaze is planning a Club Trip to this great event on Saturday 1st December to watch the Championship Game and Consolation Game (Finals). Eight teams from universities in the US are competing and will bring all the razzmatazz of US Basketball – ie cheerleaders, bands. CBS Sports will be broadcasting into thousands of homes across America.
Tickets are €10 each for members and accompanying parents. This includes bus and entry fee to the 2 games scheduled for Saturday 1st December. Please note that the club is subsidising the cost of this trip.
Members from the U-12 age group up to and including the U-19 age group are invited. PLEASE NOTE – ANY MEMBER IN THE U12 AGE GROUP (BORN IN 2007 & 2008) WISHING TO GO, MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A RESPONSIBLE ADULT ON THE DAY. THE ACCOMPANYING ADULT WILL BE EXPECTED TO TRAVEL IN THE CLUB BUS IF CHILD TRAVELLING IN BUS.

1st underage player/member €50

Parents whose Garda Vetting has lapsed or is due to lapse shortly are encouraged to call with the appropriate ID together with photocopies of same so that the Club can witness and validate your ID.
Green Shoots is a National Programme run in conjunction with Basketball Ireland (BI) and BI Development Officers. The aim of the programme is to develop fundamental movement skills and implement a Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) plan for Basketball Ireland. The Green Shoots Programme will be a fun, enjoyable social activity for children and the skill level of each player will improve. It is the first phase of the national programme which will see 3 levels ie. Green, White and Gold/Orange rolled out aimed at Under 10’s, Under 12’s & Under 14’s. This leads the children on to possible progression to the U15 Regional Academy from which the U16 squad for the Irish National Team will be chosen
