Orders for club leisurewear will be taken in the gym this Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon.  Order forms are available to download under the Club Leisurewear tab on the website.  Please forward or drop off to Aileen at the address shown together with the money owed.  There will be sizes available to try on in most of the items.


NWAB Academy & U15 Irish Regional Academy

North West Academies

There has been some confusion regarding the different types of junior academies this season hopefully the below will answer all queries. If you have any further questions please contact

There are academies at u14, u15 and u16 for boys and girls. The u14 and u16 academies are similar to last season and are organised and run by the North West area board.

The u15 academy is a Basketball Ireland Initiative which is throughout the country and the u15 NW Regional Academy includes the NWAB region and Mayo.

Designed for players from throughout the region to come and play and train together under top coaches to help improve the standard of basketball locally. Will compete in end of season tournament.

Designed for top players from throughout the region to come and play and train together under top coaches to help improve the standard of basketball locally and to develop a similar skillset for all players throughout the country. Also used to select the Irish u16 team for European championships in Summer 2019.

We are delighted to announce that we are running a shooting clinic this Tuesday 12th December at Letterkenny Blaze Basketball Club with NBA shooting coach Dave Hopla.

Dave has previously been shooting coach for the Washington Wizards, New York Knicks and recently the Detroit pistons.
This is a huge opportunity for coaches and players to get access to the best shooting coach in the world. He will be doing a shooting display, followed by a run through of his own daily shooting programme and finishing with a shooting clinic and display of drills he uses with the NBA players.

Dave is over as part of the basketball hall of fame Belfast classic presented by sport changes life.

It will run from 6.30pm-9.00pm next Tuesday 12th Dec at Loreto Gym. Doors open 6.00pm. Blaze Basketball is covering the cost of this session for it’s own coaches and members and there will be a charge of €5 for non Blaze coaches
This is open to our U14’s, U16’s, U18’s, Blaze coaches and any other club/school coaches who are interested in playing or coaching the skill of shooting and the game of basketball.

Dunnes Stores has kindly agreed to a Bag Packing Day for Blaze Basketball on Friday 22nd December in the New Dunnes. Time slots to teams have been allocated as listed below. – we will need a minimum of eight for each time slot. Please contact your Parent Co-Ordinator before 4th December with your availability.
Children are NOT allowed to be present at the bag packing. The Under 19 boys and girls can participate as well as their parents.

Registration will take place next week during Summer Camp on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th ONLY for all existing members and for children born 2011 for U8 group.
It will take place between 10.00am – 1.00pm in Convent and in the LYIT between 4.30pm – 6.00pm on each of the days. Please take note of the times. It would be helpful if the parents of children NOT doing the afternoon camps could complete their registrations at Loreto in the mornings.
